On March 31, 2026, the conference “Bioeconomy 2030+ – from Roadmap to Implementation” was held in Puławy, Poland. It was co-organized by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation, the National Centre for Research and Development, and the Polish Bioeconomy Hub. It also included an information day for the Circular Bioeconomy-Based Europe Joint Undertaking. Nearly 150 people representing science, industry, government, and finance participated in the event, creating a dynamic platform for dialogue, partnership building, and the development of future projects. 522 A key point of the conference was the presentation of the grassroots Roadmap for the Development of a Circular Bioeconomy in Poland, presented by Piotr Jurga (IUNG-PIB / Polish Bioeconomy Hub). The roadmap reflects the emerging, practice-oriented vision of this new sector of the economy, emphasizing the need for coordinated actions in management, financing, and monitoring systems based on realistic data. It also clearly positions entrepreneurs as the driving force behind the bioeconomy, supported by science, public institutions, and financial entities. The European perspective was presented by Dr. Agata Kotkowska (European Commission, DG Environment), who outlined the directions for the future EU Bioeconomy Strategy. Funding opportunities for projects under the Circular Bioeconomy Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) were presented by Simone Maccaferri and Samuele Ambrosetti (CBE JU). During the event, participants could listen to an online presentation by Professor Stanisław Bielecki, Ambassador of the Global Bioeconomy Association (https://bioeconomyassociation.org/) for Poland and the Baltic States and a member of the Bioeconomy Cluster Association. In his speech, he emphasized that a modern bioeconomy must be based on responsible production and the rational use of biological resources, research, innovation, biotechnology, and biomanufacturing, but also on the protection of biodiversity, circularity, and the resource efficiency of entire socio-economic systems. He pointed out that Poland has both the potential and the necessary tools to become one of the European leaders in the field of bioeconomy. Overall, the conference demonstrated that Poland is entering a decisive phase in shaping its bioeconomy path, which requires the rapid development of a Polish Bioeconomy Strategy.
